What Are Fillers?
As our skin ages we lose hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in our skin – hyaluronic acid being the substance that binds water and hydrates the skin to create softness and fullness. As hyaluronic acid continues to leave our skin, the skin’s appearance can become wrinkled and creased.
Dermal fillers can be used to lift depressions in the skin. An injection procedure what uses collagen, hyaluronic acid and calcium hydroxylapatite to fill out and rejuvenate these problem areas, with a fuller, younger appearance.
We offer a range of safe hyaluronic acid dermal fillers, which can be used to contour and redefine the face, lips, neck and cleavage.* There are many hyaluronic acid fillers on the market but we only use fillers which have achieved CE approval.
Problem areas which can be treated include:
- Nose to mouth lines (Nasolabial folds)
- Corners of the mouth
- Cheek bones (remodelling)
- Nose (remodelling)
- Fine eye lines
- Lip lines
- Frown lines
- Lip shape
The CE approved fillers which we use are:
Juvederm Ultra™, a new category of filler with hyaluronic acid. It contains lidocaine, a local anaesthetic, to make the whole injection process much more comfortable. The results can last up to a year and it’s one of our most popular facial fillers.*
Teosyal™, known for preventing and instantly correcting wrinkles and hollows. A highly effective facial filler, Teosyal™ has an immediate lifting and volume-producing effect that redefines your face’s curves and contours. Teosyal™ guarantees the purity of its gels, taking purity far beyond the standards required by legislation.*
Restylane™, a proven filler that’s been giving great, safe, long lasting effects to women and men for a decade. When injected into the skin, Restylane™ gives your own hyaluronic acid a helping hand, instantly boosting the skin’s hydration system to restore volume and lift the skin, softening the appearance of lines.*
Ellansé™, a dermal filler range that combines the benefits of immediate correction of wrinkles and folds as well as stimulating the generation of the body’s own natural collagen for longer-lasting results.*
These treatments are popular with men and women aged from 18 to 75, who have decided against surgery and who are looking for a refreshed, rejuvenated and subtle look.
Younger women may opt for lip fillers to achieve a more sensual, “cupid’s bow” lip outline.*
What Can I Expect?
Regardless of the filler, treatment generally takes approximately 30 to 45 minutes – depending on the area treated. With some fillers we’ll apply a numbing cream half an hour before carrying out your treatment.
Tiny injections are then introduced under the skin to lift the line, wrinkle or facial contour to the desired correction level.
The results are immediate and can last anything from six months to one year, after which you can have another treatment to top up the effect.* One to three treatments are usually needed, depending on the amount of correction required to achieve the desired effect.*
For lip enhancement, the filler is injected in minute quantities along the lip line/border to create the desired shape.* At every stage we show how much product has been introduced into the area so that the patient has control over the desired shape. In some instances we’ll recommend separate visits to allow for the swelling to settle between treatments, and then you can decide with your practitioner how much more product is needed to give you the shape you are seeking.*
