Designed to target specific problem areas and clear the skin, plasma pen treatment is a non-invasive cosmetic procedure.
Before plasma pen treatment gained popularity, the only other method of obtaining similar results was undergoing a full blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery). Luckily, due to the introduction of plasma pen in 2014, an eyelid operation is no longer necessary to achieve successful yet fully safe results.
The revolutionary technology of this treatment is able to remove excess skin via a process called sublimation. Working to an extremely accurate target, this device creates a plasma arc which heats the skin – this creates increased collagen formation in a localised area.
No lasers, scalpels, burning or cutting are required to remove excess skin with plasma pen. This significantly reduces the risks of this treatment, and provides an effective alternative to invasive eye bag surgery.
A typical plasma pen session will last around 30 – 45 minutes. However, patients are required to attend their appointment an hour prior to the actual procedure so numbing cream can be applied.
Following treatment, patients may experience mild discomfort and swelling in the treatment area. This should subside within 3 days. Scabs may form throughout the treatment area after around 5 days, but these can easily be covered with makeup until the fall off.
Most people see noticeable results after just one treatment session, but multiple sessions may be needed dependent on the individual.
