Our new cutting edge laser treatment will remove tattoos of all colours, both dark and bright. By using two different wavelengths, the procedure is safe and straightforward in the competent hands of our practitioners and fading results can be seen after one or two sessions once the healing has begun.
Our multi-level platform system is designed to treat a number of conditions for hair and skin but predominantly tattoos, which is undertaken by our fully qualified and highly trained practitioners. Before treatment, we offer a patch test which can be done 24 hours before the first treatment to assess the treatment intensity level required for you, whether the removal is compatible with your skin type and will be effective in removing your tattoos.
If you are unhappy with the tattoos you had years ago or are embarrassed about revealing your skin to your children or friends, you don’t have to worry any more.
People decide to remove tattoos for all kinds of reasons and what might have fitted your personality when you were younger may not be right for the person you are today.
Following a consultation and the actual treatment, there will be no downtime; a small dressing will be applied, and you will be able to return to work. A course of treatment may be between 6-12 weeks with a 6-week interval between each treatment depending on the depth of the tattoo and the colours used which will give your skin time to recover and remove ink residues from your system.
The success of removing a tattoo will depend mainly on the tattoo itself, the colours used and how deep the ink was embedded. Until we see your tattoo and the colours it is difficult to give you an idea of how many treatments you may require. Lasers have improved significantly in recent years, and the SF LaserMed operates on different wavelengths depending on the colour of your tattoo. The SF LaserMed can remove any colour; however, it usually requires a short course before the whole tattoo disappears.
The lasers will break down the darker pigments quicker than, the lighter tones because less light is absorbed from the pale colours making the laser less effective. Yellow, white and purple inks are frequently the most stubborn colours to remove.
Older more faded tattoos should require fewer sessions that brighter tattoos and the more recent the tattoo, the more sessions you may need.
Removing ink particles from your skin has never been a natural process. Ink is tough and requires a specialist laser to break down the ink particles. The pigment in ink absorbs different wavelengths of light so each colour needs to be treated with a different wavelength and skilled technicians will use different adaptors to break down the various types of ink. Once the laser has broken down the ink particles into smaller pieces, your white blood cells will carry them away and flush them through the body’s natural system.
Following the treatment, there may be a slight difference in the skin texture afterwards, and the more resistant colours may still be slightly noticeable, but you can have a new tattoo put on top.
Costs start from £50 per treatment for a small tattoo; from £100 for a medium sized tattoo and from £150 for the larger tattoos. Most will require a short course of treatments and, for every block of six, we offer a package price of one additional free session with every six treatments booked.
We numb the area with a local anaesthetic cream before commencing the treatment, and many people say the pain is less than they expected. Most people experience a stinging sensation. We recommend using Paracetamol for pain relief post procedure.
